best bike i can build ?

I’m going to build a bike ( buy frame add onto it ) i was wondering what frame should i buy and fork headset handlebars pedals hubs rims tires disc brakes gear shifter grips chain crank and a seat ( all the best )

Well I think we all agree that it really depends on your style of riding for the frame and fork. As far as the other components, here’s my word.

Headset: Chris King threadset is considered the best, however if you really care about weight, the new Crank Brothers Cobalt headset is the way to go.

Handlebars: Easton’s carbon bars, are considered the best. Again, there is a lot to do with preference and riding style here. I’d go with the CNT monkey lite DH bars for rough riding, or the CNT XC bars for the lightest. Or a good median between the two would be the Ritchey WCS Carbon bars or the Bontrager XXX bars. Also, consider if you want riser or flat bars.

Pedals: Do you want clipless? If yes, then I strongly reccomend the Crank Brothers Eggbeaters, 4ti are the best of them.

As far as wheels, I’d suggest getting a prebuilt wheelset, the Mavic Crossmax SL’s from cross country or all mountain or the DeeMax’s for Downhill/Freeride. If you do want to build them, the Chris King hubs are by far the best, with some DT swiss spokes and mavic 819 rims. If ou wanted to go all out, DT Swiss XRC 1250 wheelset is the most expensive and lightest, however I have a “top of the line” bike, and I feel that those are overkill.

Tires: Once again a preference thing.

Disc brakes: The lightest being Magura Marta SL Magnesium, and the best stopping being the Magura Gustav M. Or a top of the line alternative would be the Hayes stroker for downhill and freeride along with the avid code’s, or for all mountain you can get the avid juicy ultimates.

As far as the drivetrain goes, Sram X.0 and Shimano XTR are about the same. Go with sram if you like thumb shifting of grip shift, go with XTR if you like rapid shifting. Crankset get the Shimano XTR or FSA k-force.

Seat: Selle Italia makes the best seats, choose the one you like most.
