Prison Officers to bring Easter cheer to Local Community Center 

WILMINGTON - A group of correctional officers from Gander Hill prison in Wilmington will be delivering some Easter cheer to a local community center.

On Thursday, April 12 at 10:30 a.m., the Gander Hill Prison Community Outreach Group will deliver Easter flowers and other floral arrangements to members of the Kingswood Community Center.

In addition, the officers will sing Easter hymns and other selections for the members.

The Gander Hill Community Outreach Group began servicing the community in 1995. In the past, the group has donated blankets to the elderly, stocked local students with school supplies, supplied Thanksgiving meals to the needy and provided “Toys for Tots” at Christmas.

Directions : From Gander Hill: Take 12th Street to Northeast Blvd. Turn right onto Northeast Blvd. Proceed 2/10 of a mile. At traffic light, turn right onto Vandever Ave. Proceed 2 blocks. Turn left onto Bowers St. Proceed ¼ mile. Look for Kingswood on the right.
